Montrose basin wildlife Centre….heading from Auchmithie it’s on the left just as you approach the town. A great place to spot birds, seals and even stoats! The staff are welcoming and very knowledgeable. There are high powered binoculars and remote control video cameras to help you spot the wildlife and there are regular guided walks around the reserve.

St Cyrus Nature Reserve.

This is a really stunning beach with miles of golden sand. There is a small information centre at the car park. It’s off the A92. So go through Montrose following the A92, it’s before the village of St Cyrus and Steptoes yard is signposted, you turn off there and just follow the road past Steptoes as far as you can go. There is a wooden boardwalk to the beach which is a nice flat easy walk.

Murton Farm & Tea Room

Fun for all the family with lots of animals including, donkeys, pigs, goats and even ferrets! There's a playground too to keep the wee ones amused. You can take a walk around the nature reserve's lochs and woodland and when you've worked up an appetite the tea room provides light lunches and delicious home baking.
